I *need* this feature - I have Keep (rsync) backup my system to an
external USB drive periodically and if I can't have this drive
automounted at boot then I can't automatically do backups.

Adding an fstab entry for my external drive does not work (ie doesn't
mount at boot). If I add an fstab entry I can *manually* mount the drive
but this then screws with the devicenotifier.
