I booted into the Live CD of intrepid but the graphics would not start. I traced it down to the fact that my Wacom Graphire3 table was plugged in to USB. When the tablet is unplugged, X starts with no problem, but crashes almost immediately after I plug in the tablet. Logs say error due to conflict between mouse and the tablet.

I did not try the CD/DVD issue.
