Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

System is Kubuntu 8.04.1 (AMD_64)

Knetworkmanager (1:0.2.2-1ubuntu2, delivered with KDE4.1.2 and earlier)
ignores the fact that I don't want it to start when KDE4 starts and
starts up anyway.

To reproduce:
Launch Kubuntu KDE4
Right click on knetworkmanager icon in the system tray
Select Options->Configure
unselect "Start KNetworkManger automatically on login"
Click "OK"
Shutdown KDE4
Restart KDE4
Knetworkmanager again appears in the system tray.

Expected behaviour:
Knetworkmanager should not run.

Reproducible:
always.

Other info:
It makes no difference whether or not Knetworkmanager is actually manually closed down and the problem persists after full reboot.
I am unable to say whether or not this problem persists with 8.10 as I don't have a system I can spare to Alpha test on.

** Affects: knetworkmanager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
