Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

Line from top after 3 days uptime:
 6337 fh 20 0 317m 160m 10m S 1 8.1 18:18.97 knetworkmanager

As you can see the currently RES size is 160mb. It goes up with about
30-40mb per day. I've asked around on #kde and this seems to be an issue
only for kubuntu users.

kubuntu 8.10 amd64
