I couldn't use static IP for wired connection back in 8.04, and the
problem continues. This is not a network issue, because I did set up IP,
gateway, subnet, DNS settings just using a single shell script file. But
every time I reboot the system, the settings require to be adjusted
again.

Firefox starts with offline mode, even if the connection is on. There
should be a basic problem with KNetworkManager.

(On system i386, 32 bit, Kubuntu 8.10)
