Had this happen to me just now:
1) Installed amarok (new install of hardy, everything dist-upgraded as of today)
2) Installed libvisual-0.4-plugins and libvisual-projectm (plus dependencies)
3) Restarted amarok, switched on some visualizations.
** Some (bumpscope, corona, infinite, jackdaw, lv-scope, oinkscope) worked fine;
** others (lv-analyzer) froze after a few frames, but no crash;
** others (lv_flower, lv_gltest, madspin, nastyfft, projectM) crashed immediately.
Happy to provide any information I can - I understand from bug #150781
that backtraces aren't useful when libvisual crashes since it's not
built with debug, so I'm not including the packet that apport put
together.
This is amarok 1.4.8-0ubuntu4, libvisual-0.4-plugins 0.4.0-dfsg.1-2,
libvisual-projectm 1.0-1.
