I've verified that installing the version of kaffeine currently in
updates, 0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1, does not recommend python-qt4, and that the
version of kaffeine in proposed, 0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1.1, does include it in
recommends. I have not verified that installation of the codec is
successful if python-qt4 is installed and an attempt is made to play an
rvmp file .
I question whether the dependency should only be recommends; as I
understand it, the default for update-manager, synaptic, and apt in 8.04
is to not install recommended packages by default, so users would still
see this crash if they attempted go through the codec installation
process.
