I put bug 163818 into http://bugs.kde.org/process_bug.cgi. Will
Stevenson believes this is a Kubuntu bug and marked it invalid.

Kubuntu bug I guess, the VPN selection works on openSUSE (where we develop KNM).  Check you have the the pptp vpn plugin installed.

I will double check to see that pptp vpn is installed. I believe it is,
but it does not hurt to check again. I will post the results back here.
