Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kmix
When using KDE on ltsp-based (ltsp5) thin clients in Ubuntu 8.04, you
can't use kmix to control the volume, since it doesn't find the mixer.
Sound does work otherwise, with both ESD and ALSA. This seems to be a
known issue (see https://wiki.kubuntu.org/LtspKdeTools). The "current
mixer" dropdown is blank and when you hover the mouse over it in the
tray it says "Mixer cannot be found".
The version of kmix is 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu2.
** Affects: kdemultimedia (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
