[Bug 119862] Re: KDevelop crashes randomly

Hi! Somehow, I have been with ubuntu for over a year and only just
learned about kdevelop. I *really* like its code completion.

However, after my initial creation of a project, I, too, am having
crashing. Unfortunately, mine crashes quite frequently -- enough that
it's unusable. :-( Except for one time crashing upon start up, all times
have been while adding 3 to 10 lines of code to an existing file. I'm
working on php/mysql pages slowly and methodically, so only small
changes happen at a time.

I will try to describe all that I can about what could be my
peculiarities. Initially, I thought that closing parenthesis caused it,
as I will start if statements like this: if (){}, typed quickly. This
caused crashes often enough that I stopped doing that. After typing
that, I normally use left arrow to get into the logic test then end,
left arrow, enter to begin working between the braces. The backtrace I
have is from one of these times.

The latest times, it crashed upon launch or shortly thereafter and the
backtrace window said there was no info possibly to corrupted stack (?).

My situation... I have 3 computers involved with my development. 2
notebooks and a server. One notebook and the server are at work, the
other notebook at home. All of the files are .php, all are on the
server. To connect and work with the files, I use sshfs to mount part of
the path under my home on the laptop. I do this from both laptops.

I thought there was chance the "work laptop" kdevelop being open and
this one at home being open at the same time could be a problem, so I
ssh'd into the work laptop and killed the kdevelop process on the work
laptop. No change.

OH... this problem got REAL BAD when I start creating new files and
haven't done anything to add them to the project or "rescan" the
project. (I'll report back if this helps or I better understand how to
do this)

Computer versions follow:
server at work$ uname -a; echo "";cat /etc/lsb-release
Linux work 2.6.22-14-server #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 22:09:15 GMT 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=7.10
DISTRIB_CODENAME=gutsy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 7.10"
server at work$ uptime
 03:45:43 up 149 days,  8:58,  6 users,  load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

notebook at home$ uname -a; echo "";cat /etc/lsb-release
Linux homework 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:43:41 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 8.04.1"

I haven't (yet) seen this at the work notebook, only the home one. The internet connection is good both here and work.
Notebook at work:
$ uname -a; echo "";cat /etc/lsb-release
Linux workbook 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:15:37 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 8.04.1"

If there is anything I can do to gather information, please let me know.
:)

Thanks,
Chris
