I have added this to the xorg.conf
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen "Default Screen"
InputDevice "Generic Keyboard"
InputDevice "Configured Mouse"
EndSection


Now i can open displayconfig alright, but its pretty empty inside, i dont think ubuntu/xorg has detected my hardware correctly.

i have attached a screen of what X thinks is my graphics card and
monitor
