Thank you for your suggestion. I am afraid we are not going to change it for the last KDE3 release of Kubuntu, Kubuntu 8.04.
We feel that the plain style is more readable than the digital one. Of course, you may disagree with us, but that is what configuration options are for!

Please understand that "attractivity" is a subjective term. It is very
hard to fulfill the need of all users. The "plain" style is very neutral
and therefore suitable for a default style.

I hope you understand this decision and that you will continue the good
work of suggesting improvements in Kubuntu.
