Mr. Sitter,

Thank you for your helpful advice on how to post in the future. Well
noted with thanks.

No, my mouse did not stop moving; however, it was a slow, blinking-esque
type movement. As if it couldn't catch up to my hand movement. It was on
the verge of freezing altogether.

I tried to right-click many times on the amarok tile in my panel, but to
no avail. I tried this on all tiled applications in the panel.

Then my only option was to hold down the power button to re-boot.

Being as though I just got this as a gift, I was a litle nervous
thinking I compromised the original 'workmanship' of the computer. I
don't want to have any repeat problems.

Also note that on booting up after having to force powering down, there
was an error message "unable to _______ HBL" (or 3 letters beginning
with H.)

I hope this helps, and again, thank you in advance.

You didn't.

Anyway. When exactly did everything "froze"? (before downloading, while downloading, after downloading, while installing, after installing, when quitting package manager, when starting amarok, when quitting amarok....)
Also your precise definition of "froze" would be very intersting. (did the mouse move? did anything move at all? did your screen go black?....).

P.S. writing a forum-like post doesn't get you any bonus points, in fact
it makes the work of the fellows who have to triage your report a lot
more difficult.

** Changed in: amarok (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete

** Summary changed:

- I just got a Dell mini 9 and installed Amarok like an idiot and i think it crashed my system. Un-installed it but wanna make sure it
+ Dell mini froze when installing Amarok

** Description changed:

+ Shortened report:
+ Installed Amarok => "Everything froze" => uninstalled Amarok
+
+ Original report:
  Binary package hint: amarok

  I am really scared.

I just got a mini 9 from Xmas and everything was working fine. I am
trying to d/l music on my laptop (which I will NEVER DO AGAIN) and
looked in my 'supported' additional software to download.

Saw Amarok, and downloaded it. Everything froze. I then tried to un-
install, and had to use package manager, which removed program. I
honestly will never do anything to this system again, but I really need
to make sure that I didn't totally eff up my brand-new laptop!!!!

Please help me I am freaking out.

  Thanks so much in advance.
