The situation is the following:
Upgraded to the freshest Kubuntu 8.04 and discovered upgraded knetworkmanager not working and prosecuting any attempt to configure it :(. It seems to ignore the /etc/network/interfaces and when tried to edit /etc/network/interfaces, the file just blanked in 15 minutes or so. The NM was shut down before editing. Mainly, I use wireless connection (Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG), but also can't get wired net to work. The wireless connection is WEP-hex protected. Also tried to connect to unprotected network - no result. The fresh install of Hardy also didn't solve the problem.
Discussed the problem in irc support channel and made a conclusion that it is bug of NM of knetworkmanager.
While using Gutsy and Feisty had no such problems.
Any suggestions?
PS Just now can't supply you with logs, as had to downgrade to Gutsy to write this...
