[Bug 213981] [NEW] kooka with HP scanjet 5300C causes crash of kde

I am using kubuntu 8.04 beta (livecd). The scanner is recognised
perfectly (unlike previous versions of kubuntu) but when I try to scan a
page with kooka the scanner stops at the beginning of the page (and
needs to be shut down and powered again) and the system crashes,
bringing me back to the login screen.
