[Bug 147064] kaffeine does not start

Binary package hint: kaffeine

I'm running Kubuntu Gutsy. When I first tried to open a video file out of dolphin, it changed to the loading cursor and hung for about 2 mins, and then went away. Then I tried running it from a console with --verbose, but nothing was printed to the screen. I usually get an X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 171 whenever I start a GUI app, but that didn't happen this time.
The output of ls -l `which kaffeine` is "-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1366512 2007-07-30 08:19 /usr/bin/kaffeine" so that appears to be fine..
