ah, yes, that's the best way to solve a problem, just sit for 60 days
till it timeouts. even if the problem has been pointed in the code (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/45427/comments/7 and
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/45427/comments/9).

I can understand that you ubuntu guys might not have the time to fix all
bugs, and from my part I don't know enough of splash or kdm to fix it,
but I think that automatically timeouting a bug is not a very good sign
that the bug would be solved eventually. you should turn this feature
off.
