I get a similar error. When running Kitchensync from konsole I get the
following error:

synchronization worked
libkcal: ERROR: Can't read uid map file '/home/jon/.kde/share/apps/kcal/uidmaps/remote_8tYKjCNSgi'
KCrash: Application 'libopensync-kdepim-plugin' crashing...
