I too, have this issue. I upgraded KDE yesterday from 3.5.6 to 3.5.8. K
Menu | System Settings now crashes on launch with SIGSEGV. Backtrace was
useless. I did install (afterwards) kdelibs-dbg and kdebase-dbg, but the
backtrace results still only report:

(no debugging symbols found)

K Menu | System Settings was working fine in 3.5.6. I can still access
the separate application with Alt+F2 and running kcontrol.

So what's causing the problem?? What changed in 3.5.8 that is causing
the problem??
