[Bug 153667] changing screen->resolution doesn't work in gutsy live-session

test of Kubuntu Desktop i386 (20071016.1):

in live session:
 1. KDE-Menu -> System Settings -> Monitor & DIsplay
 2. select a new screen resolution and press apply

Result:
I am asked if i want to keep the new setting, but the screen resolution didn't change

However, for a real install from the same CD it works.

(maybe a resurrection of bug 46734?) ... didn't try to restart X during
live session. Will try on next install.
