TheGZeus: The config files are:

$HOME/.kde/share/config/kopeterc
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/kopete/

Make sure you back all of them up before deleting anything!

Note that there is another similar bug which is not resolved by deleting
config files -- bug #98789.  The bugs have quite different backtraces.
