** Summary changed:

- "Create new >Link to > Hard disk device" doen't work with UUIDs/LABELs in fstab
+ "Create new >Link to > Hard disk device" doesn't work with UUIDs/LABELs in fstab

** Description changed:

- Mounting/Browsing drives defined using the default method (UUID) in fstab, does *not* work using a link to the device created with "Create new >Link to > Hard disk device" right click menu on the KDE desktop root window. LABELs doesn't work either. It has to be done using /dev nodes.
+ This applies to gutsy gibbon 7.10 as of 2007-10-08 (beta, fully updated)

This can be done in "System settings -> Advanced -> Disk and filesystems", but that is only a workaround, not a solution.
