Just as a note, the KDE bug seems to be referring mainly to gapless
_track_ playback (ogg, flac, mp3 etc.). Is it clear this is the same
problem as gapless _CD_ playback?
The developer who resolved the KDE bug with a "works for me" noted,
"[T]his bug is not valid with proper hardware and a proper current
software set." Unfortunately he doesn't provide any hints as to what
those are or what the appropriate configuration is. :-( He also
suggests the problem is with xine and not Amarok.
One question: the "crossfading" option in Amarok does not allow a value
smaller than 400ms. On some other media players gapless playback is
obtained by turning crossfading on but setting the time to 0. Could
this be relevant?
