* Model: Dell XPS m1210
1. system-product-name is MXC062
2. The dcop-commands work.
3. The keycodes returned are 212 and 101.

lshal -m reports
platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = brightness-up
platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = brightness-down

A note to people who have used mikelopez's shell-script:
It somehow suppressed the output in xev when pressing brightness-down, when I removed it from /etc/acpi/video_brightnessdown.sh I could read the keycode.
