now that we know scanmodem is working with feisty with h.u.c./community
instructions, can we put the documentation to the offline help system?
the attached xml file needs to be fixed I assume (I didn't learn
anything new about xml since I did that file)...

I don't think so but you're very lucky to bump into an alsa-enabled sl-modem on two separate systems...
