I know K3b is a GUI frontend to the cd recording programs cdrdao and
cdrecord, I love this program,  what I mean to get across is you need
lame to be able to rip a song to mp3,  since the libk3b2-mp3 only has
runtime libraries for the MP3 decoder plugin. I have tried  and without
lame k3b will fail to convert a wav or rip songs from a cd to mp3. but I
would not call this a bug 3k3b just has different needs.
