I have tested this now with up-to-date Feisty and previous version of
python-dbus (0.71-3ubuntu1) and I can not reproduce the problem. Memory
usage stays flat at 20 MB.

This means that the problem was caused by python-dbus 0.80.1-1 (aka
"Everything changes" release).

I will get in contact with upstream in order to get some help in nailing
down this problem.
