  1. open konqueror (in the filemanagement mode)
  
  2. click with the right mouse key on an directory entry in the tree view
  
  3. in the context menu choose "open in new tab"
  
  Konqueror will not open the directory, you see the tab coming up but
  when you click on it there will be no content. You see just a flickering
  directory symbol in the location bar

+ ok, to make it easier for the kubuntu package maintainer:

+ i filed this bug against the package "kubuntu-default-settings", because
+ you can turn this bug ON and OFF with installing and removing this
+ package.

+ So it MUST be in kubuntu-default-settings!!!
+ Obvious, because with a switch from kde 3.5.5 to 3.5.6 the default settings stayed the same and so the bug.
+ Such an outstanding bug would be removed by the kde folks.
+ Changing this package would fix this.
