We cannot 'read' the password at any time, it's not saved in plain text (or 
decryptable anywhere, and that would be a security issue anyway).

The thing is that it's just *not* supported to use two applications for 
dealing with the same (in this context userconfig and passwd) simultaneously. 
Just don't do that.
