Got same problem with Live CD installation of Ubuntu 6.10
I have ViewSonic VX2000 LCD monitor...
It should be fixed probably by locking frequency to 60Hz

But since I'm new to *nix world I can't get installation to a "login point". All I got is a "boot:" prompt...
