[Bug 179397] kate/kwrite *always* crash on a fresh installation

On a fresh Gutsy installation (x86) kate and kwrite *always* crash
giving this error on console: "Bus error (core dumped)"

As this error most probably doesn't occur with most other users I guess this is hardware dependent. Here's what lspci says:

As this is clearly a kernel problem I don't think there is much to do about this on the Ubuntu side, though.
