You have been subscribed to a public bug:
I have rtl 8185 chip running Ubuntu 7.10 . I've downloaded and compiled
realtek driver for linux kernel (Linux driver for kernel 2.6.22 version
1027) at address
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=1&Level=6&Conn=5&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true.
I've tested the NIC in OPEN network and works fine. Then I've setup the
wifi network with 40 bits wep key.
I am facing the same issue: system freezes while setting up caps lock
and scroll lock are blinking.
I've also tried to configure the interface via iwconfig:
- iwconfig wlan0 essid "MyEssID" -->>> system is working
- iwconfig wlan0 key MyKey -->>> system freezes while setting up caps lock and scroll lock are blinking
Waiting for helps
