I just tested my spam filters by doing it automatically and the spam filters are not the issue. It looks like that after Kontact/KMail is up and running, any new mail that comes in gets stripped of everything before it hits the spam filters. Here is what the message looks like after it gets put into the trash.
..............

Spam detection software, running on the system "ShakaDoobie", has
identified this incoming email as possible spam. The original message
has been attached to this so you can view it (if it isn't spam) or label
similar future email. If you have any questions, see
the administrator of that system for details.
