It seems the problem is that there are no "mute" options/light available
for your channels (including the master one).

So it's not a duplicate (as far as I can see), but another problem -
maybe related to the driver of your soundcard?!

IMHO the "Mute" action (in the mixer icon's context menu) should be
greyed out, if it's not possible to mute.

What does "Select Master Channel..." (from the KMix context menu)
reveal/display?
