Bug 15485 seems to be about missing dependencies/programs (pinentry-qt).

You don't need your private key for displaying signed messages (as far
as I can see), so it's normal that it works.

What other MIME types are there (apart from "multipart/encrypted"),
where you get asked for your passphrase?

I'll send you a private email, so we can try to narrow this down.
