Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings

The settings manager incorrectly reports I am using the nv driver and
the options to select nvidia's proprietary driver and video memory are
grayed out

Also hitting "Test" gives me a fish net like screen, with an x-shaped
pointer from which there is no escape, not hitting mouse buttons, esc
nor enter, ctrl+alt+backspace crashes the computer completely giving a
blinking screen.

I have an nvidia 6600gt card

** Affects: kde-systemsettings (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
