OK, confirming if you use hp-setup to set up your printer queue. Minor issue since most people will use gnome-cups-manager, KDE Print Manager or CUPS web interface to set up their printer queue => Low importance.
The hplip package recommends hpijs-ppds which is enough. I believe that recommended packages should be installed by default, but this requires the last point of this specification to be implemented first: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AptEdgyImprovementsSpec. The only possibility for now is to add hpijs-ppds to ubuntu-desktop and kubuntu-desktop, but this will require 212.5 KB additional space on the desktop live CD.

I believe hp-setup should be in a separate package and this package
should not be installed on Ubuntu by default since we have gnome-cups-
manager or CUPS web interface which provide a generic way to set up a
printer queue. Is this possible?
