[Bug 61690] No error message when trying to play mp3. Fails silently.

Public bug reported:

On a fresh installation on Kubuntu 6.0.6 when opening an mp3 file there
is no error message saying that mp3 cannot be played until libxine-
extracodecs is installed (it could refer the user to see
http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/MP3_on_Kubuntu_6.06 for example). Instead it
silently fails, and simply says that "playlist is finished".

A user should be informed about the cause of the failure and advised on
what options are there: not to have mp3 playback or to rely on a
multiverse software. But the user must not face a silent failure.
