** Summary changed:
- Diplay Starts in 640x480 at 60Hz
+ Display Starts in 640x480 at 60Hz
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: kubuntu-live
When the Kubuntu 6.06 Live CD is booted onto a system with an nVidia
- GeForce4 graphics chip and a Iiyama LS902U plug & play monitor, the
+ GeForce4 graphics chip and an Iiyama LS902U plug & play monitor, the
display defaults to 640x480 at 60Hz and will not allow any other
resolutions.
It is necessary to reduce the height of the bottom ribbon channel to
even access the 'administator' button on the display settings menu.
It is necessary to select a different monitor and restart X before the
correct Iiyama monitor can be re-selected to use its resolutions.
The problem is caused by no 'modeline' values in the "Monitor" section
- of xorg.conf when the Live system starts.
+ of xorg.conf when the Live system starts the KDE desktop.
Note that the Live CD works fine on another computer with a different
graphics chipset (Intel 810) and the Iiyama LS902U monitor. It also
works on the computer with the nVidia chipset, but with a non-PnP
monitor.
