[Bug 67017] KWallets disappear after 061017's upgrade

I ran upgrade on Tuesday, October 17th 2006.
Following most kde upgrades, I usually log out and log back in. However, I procrastinated and waited a couple of days, when the errors got so frequent, I loged out and in. I then wait as usual, for my session to return as it was. I then noticed that kopete wasn't singing in, and that kwalletmanager wasn't starting.
It wasn't a kopete problem, but more of a kwalletmanager, since kopete didn't even pop up the dialog for the kwallet password. I then started up kwallet and reattempted singing in to MSN, AIM, ICQ and Jabber. No luck. 
When I clicked on the kwallet icon in systray, kwalletmanager opened up, but my wallet was not there.

Kopete generated no errors pointing towards kwallet when run from
konsole, nor did kwalletmanager.
