Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdm

At boot time the init script /etc/init.d/kdm should call usplash with the "start" parameter not "stop". See the corresponding line in /etc/init.d/gdm: the "start" case in /etc/init.d/usplash calls in effect the "usplash_quit" function that checks if usplash is running and if it does, exit it...
This bug exists in both dapper and edgy and makes the console fonts not to be correctly set at boot time.

** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided

** Changed in: kdebase (Ubuntu)
