yes!

I purged kubuntu-default-settings and it is still happenning.........
The issue seems to be in /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/kubuntu/Theme.rc

Line 16, 17, 18, there is an option "Base Resolution"....... set to 1920x1200
...
Is it normal...???

I forgot to mention that I use xinerama extension with the nvidia prop
driver........
