I cant reproduce this.

When adding a theme, i seem to get this:

"A problem occurred during the installation process. However, some of
the emoticon themes in the archive may have been installed."

However, the theme seems to be installed, and the icons seem to be
there.  I dont have kdeartwork-emoticons installed.

Which version of kopete are you using, and are you using dapper?
