ATI haven't fix the bug. My video card is mobility 9700 I use fglrx 8.25.18 with ubuntu dapper RC. logging out of X, trying to shutdown, trying to switch to a VC, all of these actions would cause the computer to freeze. -- ATI FireGL V3100: server reset causes hang https://launchpad.net/bugs/30447
