Almost everything is in the title :

This seems to happen only in the live CD : you have to do Ctrl + Alt +
Backspace in order to the screen resolution modifications take effect.

When I log in the live CD, the screen resolution is 1600x1200. When
switch to 1280x1024, then "keep" and "apply", the screen resolution
doesn't change. It does only after Ctrl + Alt + Backspace.
