[Bug 45985] Kmail crashes and halts for prolonged time, when moving messages.

Ubuntu Dapper, Kde 3.5.2-ubuntu35, and ubuntu34

If I delete an email, It will halt and freeze up for a good 30 to 40
seconds before the email  ends up in the trash. If I click "move to" on
another email and move it to another folder it will freeze up again for
a good 30/40 seconds.  My system resources are barley used. It's only
Kmail that's running sluggishly.

I originally thought that maybe my index files where broken so I deleted them and allowed Kmail to re-create them. This seemed to work until I got new emails.
Kmail also crashes every second or third execute, with the standard "ERROR: Communication problem with Kmail, it probably crashed."

Then when It does open I get these error messages sprayed into the console

If I delete the lock file, it will start up faster then If I don't. But each time after I delete it, them restart Kmail it complains about that lock file again.".
Kmail also refuses to totally exit when started from konsole. The gui will close but it it doesn't return to the console I have to to kill it (ctrl +c )
