I am trying to follow up on this problem, first question is are you
still having this problem?  And second is your machine currently up to
date?

I am currently running Kubuntu Dapper without these problems on amroaK.
I have a pretty large music collection (30GB) using mysql as the
collection database and have no issues.  I am wondering if you are able
to upgrade this?

On my Breezy box, Kuubntu 5.10, I tried to replicate this problem but
was not able to.
