[Bug 36950] Translucent option broken

Description:
In Kubuntu in the window settings the Translucent option checked slows
down dramatic the performance and reaction of the whole system. Some
actions even not seems to work. this is on drapper flight 5 with the
latest Nvidia driver installed and updates.
