Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34849
Affects: kdebase konsole (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
Hi !
I run kubuntu-breezy with german language
environment.
----
mschoechlin at lt-msch: $ env|grep LC
mschoechlin at lt-msch: $ env|grep LANG
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=de_DE:de:en_GB:en
----
If I login from konsole to remote systems (via ssh) which do not support
utf8 charcters, german characters are not displayed
correctly.
Changing konsoleĀ“s default encoding by selecting
1.) "settings"->"encodings" -> "west european (iso8859-1)"
2.) "settings"-> "save as default settings"
does not work.
After a restart, these settings are forgotten by konsole.
I reported this bug many months ago, but it semms that this bug was lost
while transition from bugzilla to malone.
