[Bug 33297] erratic, inconsistent, and failing

Description:
Environment : KDE3.5.1 on top of Ubuntu 6.04 ( as of 28 Feb 06 ) on an
IBM TP T43

Problem : Klaptop seems to exhibit some very curious behaviour - doesn't
suspend correctly, disappears from Panel.

When suspending from the KDE desktop using the Klaptop application, the
desktop clears, and shows the 'locked' box.

After entering the password to unlock , klaptop icon is no longer in the
panel.

Try to start through run command fails.

Try to set up through Kcontrol also fails

Logout of KDE desktop and then the system suspends (!)

Klpatop has also died when the battery is down to critical level.

For interest - hibernate is very fast and works ! Excellent !! Also
Gnome apps from Gnome desktop work fine, if a little slowly, so it is
not a hardware issue.
